Are your balloon weights recyclable?
It depends on your local recycling program. Polypropylene is a type of plastic labeled as #5 plastic, which is technically recyclable. However, many curbside recycling services don't accept it due to sorting limitations or lack of demand.
Are your balloon sticks made from solid plastic or hollow straws?
Control Balloon Products uses solid plastic sticks, not hollow straws so you can count on them being sturdy, solid sticks - not flimsy straws.
Is your hand pump dual-action (blows air in both directions)?
Yes, our hand pump is dual-action - it inflates balloons both when you push and when you pull, making the process faster and easier.
Will your hand pump work with both latex and foil balloons?
Yes, our hand pump works with both latex and foil balloons. However, please note that it only pumps air - balloons will not float unless filled with helium.
Which stick/cup matches a 12" balloon?
Our regular cup is designed for 9" balloons, but many customers successfully use it with balloons up to 12". A 12" balloon should fit comfortably; however, we don't recommend going larger with the regular cup.
Both our 12" and 15" sticks are compatible with the regular cup, so you can choose the length that best fits your display needs.
Do your sticks break in transit?
Our sticks are made from solid plastic and are designed to withstand normal shipping conditions. They do not break during transit. However, there are some material differences to note:
- Clear "bubble" sticks are made of polystyrene, which is rigid and durable for shipping, but can snap if bent too far.
- White sticks are made of polypropylene, a more flexible material that resists breaking - even when bent.
Do your plastic balloon weights, cups and sticks have a shelf life?
Plastic balloon weights, cups, and sticks generally do not have a specific shelf life as long as they are stored properly. These items are typically made from polypropylene and are non-degradable under normal storage conditions.

Yes, we can create a custom balloon weight based on your design. You would need to cover the cost of the mold (plate) and the per-unit price for the quantity you choose to order plus the cost of shipping unless your order is $5,000.00 or more, then we offer free shipping.
Can you make your existing balloon weights in our company colors?
Yes, we can match your company colors for our existing balloon weights. Please note that custom colors will increase the cost per unit and require a minimum order quantity.
Can you make the bubble sticks in a clear color such as blue?
Yes, we can. However, since clear blue is not one of our standard colors, a minimum order quantity would be required, and production would be subject to the factory's lead time.
Are your balloon weights suitable for both indoor and outdoor use?
Although they are fine for short time expose outdoors (up to a week - or two), they are not up to the standards we use for outdoor siding/fencing/etc.
Can I reuse these accessories after display events?
Yes! Many of our products are durable, reusable, and easy to clean, just rinse and store them for your next event.
Do you offer discounts if I order a full container?

Where do you produce your balloon products?
USA & China, we try to make as much in the USA as possible but some items must be made in China to keep prices as low as possible.
What balloon accessories do I really need to get started?
You should stock cups and sticks for air-filled balloons, along with 8-gram and 65-gram weights for helium balloons. Ordering a box of each weight is the best option to ensure you're covered for all events.

We manufacture as many of our balloon products as possible in the USA. For certain items that cannot be produced domestically, we partner with a trusted manufacturer in China to ensure consistent quality and availability.

What is the shelf life of your balloon products?
When stored indoors in normal conditions, plastic balloon products can last for decades. Materials like polyethylene and polypropylene are very stable and don't break down easily when kept away from sunlight, heat, and moisture.
What temperature range can your balloon products handle?
Can withstand approximately –40°F to 180°F (–40°C to 80°C). Prolonged extreme heat may soften the plastic, while extreme cold can make it more brittle.
Do you provide end-of-life or recycling programs for your products?
We don't operate a formal end-of-life program, but we strongly encourage our customers to reuse or recycle our products whenever possible rather than dispose of them in general waste. Most of our products are made from recyclable materials. Many are made from "Post Industrial Resin". We promote responsible handling to help minimize environmental impact.
Can you put my logo on your balloon weight?
Yes, we can customize our balloon weights with your logo in a few ways.
- For large, ongoing orders, we can add your logo directly to the mold. This requires a tooling expense, but it's the most durable and professional option for high-volume production.
- For smaller quantities (typically a few thousand pieces), the most cost-effective option is to supply your own logo stickers. We'll send them to the factory, and they'll apply them to the weights during production for an additional fee.
- We also offer screen printing as an alternative, but in most cases, the sticker option provides a cleaner look and better value for moderate quantities.
Can I mix and match accessories with different balloon brands?
Yes, you can mix and match most accessories with different balloon brands. Our balloon weights are fully compatible with any brand, and our cups and sticks work with all standard balloons as well.
However, our cups and sticks must be used together. They are not designed to fit other brands components.
- Our Snap-Lock permanent-locking cup will only work with our Snap-Lock stick.
- Our Twist-Lock cup also requires the matching Twist-Lock stick.
The tips of our sticks are engineered to match the specific cup style, so they must be used as a set.

Can your balloon weights be used for foil balloons or giant balloons?
Yes, our balloon weights work for both foil balloons and giant balloons. We offer weights in a wide range of sizes, and for oversized or extra-large balloons, you can simply add multiple weights such as doubling or tripling 100 gram weights until you reach the holding power needed. This makes it easy to secure balloons of virtually any size.
Are the colors for cups/sticks/weights consistent between batches?
Colors have always been very close but could vary slightly if colorants are ever changed by manufacturers.
Why would I want a solid balloon stick over a hollow straw?
A solid balloon stick is sturdier and more professional-looking, making it the better choice for high-quality products or events.
Why are your balloon weights one sided while others are double sided?
Our balloon weights are one-sided by design, this allows us to make many different shapes with minimal toolibg cost. We have shapes for almost every season and holiday.. instead of just generic shapes. Also the flat side allows markers to be used for gift giving, events, etc.
How long do I have to report an issue with my order?

Do you keep most items in stock year-round?
Yes, most items are in stock all year except that some holiday weights might be in limited supply or completly out until we bring them in again for that holiday.
